The Azurite Series
Mineral(s): Azurite
Locality: Zacatecas, Mexico
A small (1.2 cm) but intense deep-blue cluster of azurite crystals. Looks almost like a blackberry.
Zacatecas is a well-known locality in Baja, Mexico for various minerals, especially sulfides. It produced some great azurite specimens too, but most of it came out long ago, probably in the 1950s-60s. Compared to other localities, azurite specimens from Zacatecas are scarce.
